SPOKANE BIDDING FOR 2010 NORTH AMERICANS

SPOKANE, Washington (ACRN) – Spokane, Washington, which was runner up to Hermosillo for the 2007 North American figure skating championships, is bidding for the 2010 North Americans.
Spokane is one of four finalists known to be bidding for the North Americans in 2010, which will be one of the last events before the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver, Canada. Spokane hosted Skate America in 2002, and lost to Hermosillo, Mexico to host the 2007 North American championships.
The three other finalists to host the 2010 North American championships are Providence Rhode Island (hosted 1995 North Americans), Cancun Mexico (hosted 1998 North Americans), and Portland Oregon (hosted 2005 North Americans). The 2009 North Americans are provisionally allotted to Basseterre, St. Kitts.
